Remembrance of Death

كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ

Allah Almighty says, “Every self will taste death. You will be paid your wages in full on the Day of Rising. Anyone who is distanced from the Fire and admitted to the Garden, has triumphed. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of delusion,”
(3:185)

There is no avoidance for death, every action, good or otherwise, will be accounted for. We should strive to remember that Dunya is a chance for our deeds with eternal Jannah in mind.

Mystery of Tomorrow

اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عِنْدَهٗ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ ۚ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ ۚ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِى الْاَرْحَامِ ۗ وَمَا تَدْرِيْ نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا ۗ وَمَا تَدْرِيْ نَفْسٌۢ بِاَيِّ اَرْضٍ تَمُوْتُ ۗ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلِيْمٌ خَبِيْرٌ ࣖ

The Almighty says, “No self knows what it will earn tomorrow and no self knows in what land it will die.”
(31:34)

The next minute of our lives, the next day, the next week, the next month are all hidden from us, just like how our death remains unknown to us. As such, we should strive to always try to the best Muslims that we can. May we return to Allah swt in the state of Husnul Khotimah. Insyallah.

وَلَوْ يُؤَاخِذُ اللّٰهُ النَّاسَ بِظُلْمِهِمْ مَّا تَرَكَ عَلَيْهَا مِنْ دَاۤبَّةٍ وَّلٰكِنْ يُّؤَخِّرُهُمْ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ فَاِذَا جَاۤءَ اَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُوْنَ سَاعَةً وَّلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُوْنَ 

The Almighty says, “When their specified time arrives, they cannot delay it for a single hour nor can they bring it forward,”
(16:61)

We do not know our timeline, nor the timeline of others. Death comes for all of us, regardless of age, wealth, health and standing. Always appreciate and love others around us sincerely, for it could be the last time we get to spend time with them.
